      Description

      Super Resolution Microscopes
      Fluorescence and confocal microscopes hosted by the Microscopy Facility. Acquired via an NSF-MRI award (PI: Charlie Anderson), these two microscopes are featuring Nobel Prize winning super resolution technology (2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry), which enables one to obtain fluorescence images at a resolution beyond diffraction limit (~250 nm) of the light. The microscopes are located in MSC N-030E

      With no requirement to use specific fluorophores and without any computation, this system produces super resolution images in real time at up to 1,000 frames per second.
      This high temporal resolution is combined with a spatial resolution enhancement on all axes of up to 2× that of conventional fluorescence microscopes.
