    Research interests

    Dr. Bryan Traughber has multiple patents and peer-reviewed manuscripts, as well as a track record of venture capital, research contracts and public funding for translational research, early-stage clinical trials and technology commercialization.

    His research is multi-disciplinary and includes collaborations with cancer biologists, chemists, engineers, medical physicists and physicians to translate innovations to the clinic.

    His expertise includes gynecologic, genitourinary and gastrointestinal oncology, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, MR-guided radiotherapy, drug delivery and molecular radiotherapy.

    Clinical interests

    Dr. Bryan Traughber is an American Board of Radiology-certified radiation oncologist with expertise in high-dose rate brachytherapy, low-dose rate brachytherapy and MR-guided radiotherapy. Clinically, he sees patients with gynecological, genitourinary and gastrointestinal malignancies. He has training in proton beam therapy, 2D and 3D radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, volumetric modulated arc therapy and stereotactic body radiation therapy, both intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy and intraoperative radiotherapy.

    Dr. Traughber is part of the MRIdian program at Penn State Cancer Institute.

    Teaching and educational interests

    Dr. Bryan Traughber participates as teaching faculty in the radiation oncology electives of Penn State College of Medicine. He has provided mentorship to high school, undergraduate and medical students interested in translational and clinical cancer research. This includes serving as a thesis committee member for graduate students as well as a mentor for postdoctoral fellows, scholars and junior faculty.
