Personal profile
Research interests
Dr. Cayce Onks' research focuses on the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and sport-related concussions. He was recently part of a team that developed an objective clinical tool to aid in primary prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.
This current study examined the use of micro-Doppler radar as an objective and novel way to look at human movement patterns that place individuals at risk for musculoskeletal injuries, such as ankle injuries and ACL tears, and track progress while recovering. The findings also have the potential for clinical application to prevention of falls and disabilities, early detection of Parkinson’s disease, early detection of dementia, concussion diagnosis and other conditions.
Teaching and educational interests

He is also a co-director of the advanced musculoskeletal anatomy elective for medical students at Penn State College of Medicine.
As a faculty member in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, Dr. Onks teaches clinical skills to fellows, residents and medical students. His teaching activities have included the development and implementation of a casting and joint injection workshop for family medicine residents; he continues to be a faculty participant in this workshop.
