    Research interests

    Dr. Lori Grafton's research interests include prognosis of patients with traumatic brain injury as well as management of long-term sequelae of traumatic brain injury. 

    Clinical interests

    Dr. Lori Grafton’s areas of clinical expertise involve the specialized care of individuals with traumatic brain injury, including optimizing medical and behavioral management through a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach. She continues to work toward establishing a continuum of care for brain-injured patients who receive their care at Penn State Health, with an ongoing focus on early consultation and intervention as well as long-term management. 

    In the outpatient setting, Dr. Grafton specializes in treatment of patients whose injuries range from mild traumatic brain injury/concussion to severe traumatic brain injury. 

    She regularly ranks in the top 99th percentile for patient satisfaction among her peers nationwide. 

    Teaching and educational interests

    Dr. Lori Grafton served as the fellowship director of brain injury medicine at Carolinas Rehabilitation for four years and successfully worked toward accreditation of a newly established Brain injury fellowship at Penn State College of Medicine, which she co-directs, from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education

    In addition to teaching fellows, Dr. Grafton has extensive experience in educating medical students, resident physicians and advanced practice providers.
