Clinical interests
Dr. ShaEssa Wright is an attending physician on the pediatric rehabilitation medicine consult service at Penn State Children's Hospital. In this capacity, she evaluates children with traumatic or debilitating injuries and medical illness and develops a therapeutic treatment approach to rehabilitation and recovery. She provides education on various diagnoses including, but not limited to, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, de-conditioning/debility, stroke, traumatic injuries and autonomic instability.
She is also an attending physician in Penn State Bone and Joint Institute's pediatric rehabilitation concussion clinic, where she evaluates and treats children with concussion and post-concussive syndrome and provides education and therapeutic interventions to patients and families.
Since 2019, she has served on the institutional concussion clinic committe, cerebral palsy clinic committee, patient satisfaction committee and pediatric rehabilitation CARF accreditation committee.

Dr. ShaEssa Wright regularly lectures to physical medicine and rehabilitation residents and neuropsychology fellows studying at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital. She also speaks at departmental Grand Rounds.
