Invasive plant species are recognized to be a serious problem on Montana's range and forested lands. Noxious weeds have a serious economic impact on the productivity of these lands and in addition, the presence of these invaders compromises the ecological integrity of all Montana's land. This project will investigate the use of biological control for the management of noxious weeds. These projects will contribute to the selection of potentially new biological control agents for the control of noxious weeds, as well as a general understanding of biological control and its implementation.
