Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The treatment condition using the Supermarket Tour intervention will increase the nutrition knowledge about the existing relationship between specific fruit and vegetable intake and reduction in disease risk more than the control condition as measured by the number of correct responses on the nutrition survey. The treatment condition using the Supermarket Tour intervention will increase the intake of fruits and vegetables as measured by analysis of pre- and post-treatment 1-day food records. The treatment condition using the Supermarket Tour intervention will show a lasting effect on increased consumption of fruits and vegetables as measured by analysis of pre- and post-treatment and 1-month follow-up 1-day food records. The treatment condition using the Supermarket Tour intervention could prove to be a cost effective marketing device that large chain supermarkets could use for promoting healthy nutrition to customers, increasing sales, and opening up job part-time opportunities as Supermarket Tour Guides for AAMU dietetic students.
