Targeting trans-translation to kill M. tuberculosis non-replicating persister cells

Project: Research project

Project Details

NARRATIVE Drug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis present a critical challenge to world health, and new antibiotic targets must be identified to limit the toll of tuberculosis. This project will establish whether trans- translation can be targeted in M. tuberculosis and test the efficacy of lead compounds in vivo. New antibiotics are expected to be developed from the results of the proposed experiments.
