3-D rotation invariant SAR image identification by using multi-level composite filter synthesized by SA

    Abstract

    In this paper, 3-D rotation invariant synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image identification by using multi-level composite filter synthesized by the simulated annealing (SA) technique is presented. The impact of number of levels on discriminability and noise performance is discussed. In addition, a unique position encoding technique is also added in the optical system so that the filter can easily be implemented in the 4 - f optical system. Both the computer simulation and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed technique.
