Abstract
Suppose electrically small spheres made of a general linear bianisotropic medium are randomly dispersed in a dielećtric host medium with quadratic nonlinearity to fabricate a composite medium. Assuming that the volumetric proportion of the bianisotropic medium is small and the host medium is weakly nonlinear, we have used the Maxwell Garnett approach to estimate the effective properties of the homogenized composite medium. The nonlinear properties of the composite medium are shown to be affected by the electric field as well as the magnetic field.
