Abstract
A small dual-band Sierpinski gasket monopole antenna was designed using a novel design technique using the first and second resonant bands. The effects of the varying the flare angle and the similarity factor of the monopole antenna were also investigated. It was observed that utilizing the new design approach a band ratio < 2 was achieved between the first and second bands. It was also found that by properly controlling the flare angle and similarity factor the frequency bands can be adjusted in the Sierpinski gasket.
