Abstract
Acoustic measurements using computer accessories with intuitive LabVIEW™ software to help students selecting an appropriate sound clip were discussed. Appropriate sound signals were generated, transmitted, received, and processed to determine the speed of sound. The hardware consisted of stereo speakers and microphone supplied with most personal computers. Using the computer's sound card under LanVIEW control, a brief audio burst containing unique left and right channel information is generated and played through the respective speakers.
