Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review empirical and conceptual information about the world's adolescents in the context of leisure and suggest areas for policy development, service provision, and further research. The paper will also provide assessments of the extent of empirical support about the importance of leisure to adolescent development. Finally, a list of principles about adolescent development and leisure that evolve from the review and assessment will be provided.
