Abstract

The common side effects of melphalan include nausea, vomiting, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia. Rarer toxic reactions such as pulmonary fibrosis and acute leukemia due to prolonged use of oral melphalan have been reported. The authors report here a patient who developed an anaphylactic reaction while receiving oral melphalan adjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer.
