N2 - Explicit treatment of integration requires that the elements of a system should be dealt within a common framework or architecture. One monolithic architecture will not adequately address the needs of factory control system design, development, and implementation. This paper identifies several related architectures that are required for factory control. These are: factory, functional, control, information and data, communication, and information system.
