Autler-Townes splitting and AC Stark shift in a diatomic alkali vapor

Abstract

A continuous wave optical-optical double resonance (OODR) excitation scheme was used to measure the Doppler-free Autler-Townes (AT) splitting and AC Stark shift in Li2 vapor. The OODR scheme consists of the excitation sequence accomplished by a pump and counter propagating probe laser. The OODR lineshape was recorded by monitoring the side fluorescence from the upper level using a photomultiplier tube as the probe laser was scanned.
