Abstract

Nanostructured surfaces have many specialised applications, such as biomedical or optical coatings, sensors and catalyst Supports. A new way of producing these surfaces by oblique angle polymerisation (OAP) avoids the need for complex lithographic processes or templates. Materials can be produced with a very high surface area, which can be functionalised at much higher levels than a planar surface.
