Concurrent engineering: A partnership approach

Abstract

The development of a new course in concurrent engineering, is described. The course uses a number of laboratories and demonstration, and invites speakers from the industry, and case studies. The course is developed jointly by faculty and research assistants at the University of Washington, the University of Puerto Rico's Mayaguez campus and at Penn state. The project is a part of the manufacturing engineering education partnership and is funded through the ARPA technology reinvestment program.
