Detecting resonant states in γd → π0d

Abstract

The angular distribution function for γd → π0d scattering is calculated. A method for recognizing the presence of intermediate resonances and their angular momentum is given. As discussed, a measurement of this angular distribution allows for the determination of both the parity of these resonances and their transition amplitudes.
