Abstract
A bilayer comprising two matched dielectric sculptured nematic thin films (SNTFs) with S-shaped morphology is shown to display almost perfect reflection in a narrow frequency range when illuminated by normally incident plane waves. Thus, the described SNTF bilayer can be used as a rugate-like filter.
