Abstract

This paper compares and calibrates the design outcomes of load and resistance factor design (LRFD) and allowable stress design (ASD) hardwood glued-laminated timber bridges. Calibrations are presented for northern red oak, red maple and yellow poplar glued-laminated girder beams and longitudinal deck panels.
