Abstract
The Mg-Al phase diagram was studied using the diffusion couple technique. The diffusion couples were characterized using light microscopy, electron probe microanalysis, and Vickers hardness. The epsilon phase was not found to exist above 370°C. The growth constants for the three intermediate compounds were estimated.
