Abstract
10-Oxo-trans-8-decenoic acid (ODA) was found to stimulate mycelial growth and stipe elongation in Agaricus bisporus. Higher mushroom yield at the first flush resulting from supplementation of the casing layer with ODA in the form of mushroom powder suggested that ODA may be involved in the initiation of fruiting.
