Abstract

In this paper, a leap-frog continuous-discontinuous Galerkin time domain (CDGTD) method is proposed to efficiently simulate plasmonic architectures by incorporating the Drude model. The technique is used to perform fast parametric sweeps to study the wideband properties of nanoantennas. Moreover, the covariance matrix adaptation evolutionary strategy (CMA-ES) is employed to optimize an array of nanoloop antennas. A high endfire gain is achieved, which is superior to previously reported results.
