Elastic, piezoelectric, and dielectric properties of 0.58Pb(Mg 1/3Nb 2/3)O3-0.42PbTiO 3 single crystal

Abstract

The piezoelectric, elastic and dielectric constants of 0.58Pb(Mg 1/3Nb 2/3)O 3-0.42PbTiO 3 (PMN-42%PT) were discussed. The resonance and ultrasonic methods were used for the purpose. It was found that the PMN-42%PT single crystals has tetragonal symmetry at room temperature. The results show that the measured piezoelectric constant d 33 is ∼260×10 -12C/N.
