Formation control of VTOL UAVs

Abstract

This chapter considers the problem of steering a group of VTOL aircraft to a desired inter-vehicle formation pattern that translates with a prescribed reference linear-velocity. Following the control design methodology developed in the previous chapter, formation control schemes are presented under an undirected communication topology. New theoretical tools are used to address this problem in the full and partial state information cases.
