Heat capacity measurements of He3-He4 mixtures in aerogel

Abstract

Heat capacity measurements of He3-He4 mixtures in 98% porous aerogel show that, in this system, the coexistence boundary is detached from the superfluid transition line. Prominent heat capacity peaks are found deep inside the He3 rich region. The resulting phase diagram is consistent with that based on the result of torsional oscillator superfluid density measurements.
