Hexadecane autoxidation. Product analysis and reaction pathways

Abstract

This paper presents an approach for resolving and modeling liquid-phase autoxidation pathways. The approach requires quantitative determination of oxygen-containing functional group concentrations, and this is presently accomplished by a novel combination of titrimetric and spectroscopic methods. The results from initial autoxidation experiments using n-hexadecane proved to be qualitatively consistent with a global reaction pathway model assembled from the literature.
