Abstract

This paper discusses high-speed supercavitating vehicles and some of the critical technology areas being addressed at ARL. First, there is an introduction that describes the basic vehicle concept. Then, techniques for generating the cavity, vehicle control, and water reactive propulsion for propelling the vehicles at high speeds are presented. Finally, the computational fluid dynamics codes being developed as part of the program are discussed.
