Abstract
The design is presented for a prototype device that implements a redundancy management scheme for the online detection and isolation of faulty sensors. The device has been built using an 8-bit microcomputer system and commercially-available electronic hardware. The software is not restricted to any specific hardware, but is completely portable to other microcomputer systems. The operation of the prototype device has been successfully demonstrated for the real-time validation of sensor signals on the 5 MWt MIT Research Reactor.
