Abstract

Experiments can offer students different points of view on the mathematical concepts presented in class, bringing these concepts to life. This article presents an experiment that shows the interaction between mathematics and fluid dynamics. It can be performed easily in a classroom setting and can be used at several levels in the undergraduate curriculum (e. g., precalculus, calculus). It works particularly well in classes with large numbers of science and engineering students.
