Abstract

We have developed a plant regeneration and gene transfer system for Populus NC5339, using Agrobacterium tumefaciens as a vector. Employing this system we introduced a gene for glyphosate tolerance (aroA) into Populus NC5339 plants. This paper describes the strategy employed to achieve this goal.
