Abstract

Television distribution has become the largest technology infrastructure deployed after telephone and electric power networks. Television has dramatically changed the way we live, work, learn, and do business. Regular television is being delivered through radio frequency broadcast and cable television (CATV). Up to now, delivering television over a broadband network has been costly and bandwidth intensive.
