Laser performance of self-frequency doubling Nd:GdCOB under Ti:sapphire laser pumping

Abstract

The self-frequency doubling laser performance of Nd:GdCOB crystal with the phase-matching direction not in the principal plane is reported. The green light with a power of 11.3 mW and an efficiency of 2.3% was obtained. The laser threshold for self-frequency doubling operation is measured to be 1 mW. The experimental results are discussed.
