Abstract

Monte Carlo simulation technique was used to evaluate a lattice-gas model of adsorption inside cylindrical pores. It was found that at low temperature, quasitransitions occurred, that would be genuine thermodynamic transitions in mean-field theory. Properties computed by Monte Carlo simulations resembled those obtained from the mean-field theory predictions. The results show that the limitation of the lattice-gas model is its inflexibility.
