Abstract

A method is proposed for interpreting roughness data in terms of stress conditions at microcontacts. An elastic/plastic traction model was evaluated with respect to two sets of data concerned with the effects of spin velocity on spinning torque and also lateral sliding and spin on the traction curve slope. The paper was presented at the ASME/ASLE Joint Tribology Conference.
