Membership development for ASABE during the year 2006 reached a record of 1,025 new full members and this encouraging growth for the year indicates a potential membership for the year 2007 as well. The Non-Engineering Member Task Force was formed at the 2006 Annual International Meeting to investigate on issues like the differences in membership rights and privileges between members and member-engineers and make recommendations to the Membership Development Council (MDC) and Board of Trustees (BOT). P-127 Robotics Student Design Competition Committee plans to have a demonstration competition with four schools at the 2007 Annual International Meeting. Members of ASABE plays a key role in its success by contributing long hours to judge the contest. Representative from the ASABE leadership were invited for attending the meeting so that they can discuss plans for the centennial year, happenings at headquarters, and trends in the agricultural and biological engineering industry.
