Abstract
The synthesis of Ru nanowires with metallic contacts using electrochemical deposition in porous polycarbonate membranes and the suppression of superconductivity in Ru grains were investigated. The structural characteristics of the nanowires were analyzed using electron diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. It was observed that Ru wires with diameters of 100 nm and 50 nm were polycrystalline, and consisted of ultrasmall Ru grains with a size of 2 nm. The suppression of the superconductivity in the Ru nanowires due to the change of electron-phonon interaction in ultrasmall Ru grains embedded in amorphous RuO 2 was proposed.
