Abstract

The performance of microcomputers in solving a collection of well-known nonlinear programming test problems is compared with that of a mainframe computer. A collection of nonlinear programming problems is analyzed on both a mainframe and on a currently popular micro. The results should prove helpful in determining the suitability of the microcomputer for MS/OR applications.
