Motor-drive system sizing and selection by Parker/Compumotor

Abstract

Compumotor/Parker software, for motor-drive system sizing and selection, is used in an electrical machinery course to bring a practical knowledge of current technology to the classroom. Students are exposed to electrical and mechanical engineering issues and, therefore, are forced to brake away from compartmentalization of knowledge given by the traditional electrical and mechanical engineering technology programs. A collaborative laboratory setting enables the students to interact and learn in a non-threatening environment.
