Abstract

The thermodynamics of the phase transformation and the precipitate microstructure evolution were presented using free energy functionals. The strain energy was obtained from elasticity theory using the homogeneous modulus approxiamtion. It is found that the calculated precipitate dimensions and aspect ratios are similar in magnitude with respect to the experimental measurements.
