Abstract

A study was conducted to report non-volatile 180° magnetization reversal by an electric field in multiferroic heterostructures. A reversible 180° magnetization reversal was realized with an about 5 Oe auxiliary magnetic field besides the reversible and non-volatile 90° rotation of Magnetization. A digital single-pole double-throw switch and a three-state output gate along with a spin valve controlled by electric fields instead of magnetic fields were designed on the basis of the piezostrain-mediated magnetization rotation and variation of anisotropic resistivity in the heterostructure. Several representative electric fields labeled with different color symbols on the loop were chosen to clarify the dynamic rotation process of MEA.
