Abstract

This research focuses on designing Proof-of-Concept (PoC) for the proposed Intelligent HVAC Thermostat Control System Algorithm. The proposed design involves the use of a network based occupancy algorithm, which accurately tracks the location of residents in the real estate properties. The proposed occupancy model is necessary for accurately tracking the location of residents for use in the control algorithm. For comparison, this design was simulated with an identical design omitting the peripheral sensors, occupancy modeling and resident distance tracking. The simulation results showed that the proposed system is significantly more power efficient than the conventional model.
