Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate that the trefoil knot has the unique property that its forward scattering for circularly polarized waves exhibits a strong dependence on the handedness of the polarization. Both a single knot element as well as an array of these knots show this property which could be used in a polarization-selective surface (PSS).
