We have developed a novel poly-(1,4-anthraquinone)/carbon nanotube (P14AQ/CNT) nanocomposite via a simple in situ polymerization, to improve the rate performance of the lithium-ion battery. The characterization results show that CNT can be homogeneously distributed in the composite. When utilized as the cathode material for lithium-ion battery, the P14AQ/CNT composite exhibits excellent cycling stability with a specific capacity (233 mAh g−1) within 100 cycles, as well as the significantly enhanced rate performance (165 mAh g−1 at 5 C rate).
