N2 - A new equation is proposed for relating solvent self-diffusion coefficients and mutual diffusion coefficients for polymer-solvent systems. The formulation of the new equation avoids a friction-coefficient formalism, and hence the new equation does not require the thermodynamic properties of the polymer-solvent system. A comparison has been made of the predictions of the proposed equation with experimental data for the benzene-rubber system.
