Prediction of thermo-mechanical erosion of High-Temperature Ablatives in the SSRM facility

Abstract

A transient, two-dimensional computer code describing the simultaneous process of thermochemical ablation and mechanical erosion is employed to predict the erosion phenomena of MXBE-350. The results generated from this code were compared with the experimental data performed by FMC on SSRM facility. Reasonable agreement were found between the numerical prediction and the measured results.
