Abstract

The goal of this work is to show the relationship between innovation and systems thinking by examining the published work in the areas of innovation. We will identify key common requirements between innovation and systems thinking and propose the idea of using systems thinking as a way to promote and enhance innovation. Finally, we propose teaching design process as a practical way to introduce and inspire systems thinking in an engineering curriculum.
