Abstract

A disease outbreak in the danio (Danio devario) resulted in the isolation of Edwardsiella ictaluri as the etiologic agent. This isolate was compared with typical E. ictaluri and found to give identical reactions. It was also pathogenic for channel catfish. This is the second isolation of E. ictaluri from non-ictalurid fish.
