Abstract
A recent theoretical study of plane waves with orthogonal phase velocity is premised on incorrect assumptions. The conclusion reached therein - namely, that "a plane wave with orthogonal phase velocity cannot possess linear momentum" and therefore "cannot propagate at all" - is incorrect in general.
